Consumer Electronics Enclosures

  • Led internal teams of engineering project management, product engineering, manufacturing engineering, and quality engineering to engage with clients in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) phases from prototype to mass production

  • Proposed and down-selected new designs and processes for high yield in dimension and product reliability, reducing material consumption, lowering cycle time by actively managing Design of Experiment (DOE) projects

    • Communicated and aligned the project scope & purpose between clients and the internal cross-functional teams

    • Designed configuration matrices, data collection plan, process flows, and machine/fixture requirements

    • Drove resource allocation, arranged timeline with teams, and tracked projects status actively with waterfall

    • Delivered statistical analysis with JMP and failure mode analysis for decision-making with clients

  • Carried out iterative design improvements by providing Design for Manufacturing (DFM) reports with Siemens NX

    • Performed geometric tolerance (GD&T) analysis and utilized Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods to suggest process optimization and recommend dimensional & reliability specifications for product designers

    • Provided mechanical analysis, built process simulations, and kicked off DOEs to guide product designers and manufacturing designers to improve designs and make processes more feasible for mass production

    • Mitigated risk to impact the yield in the full-scale production by improving designs and optimizing the process stability

  • Conducted failure analysis (FA) to categorize the failure modes and determined the root cause of the failure

    • Suggested and implemented corrective action (CA) to mitigate the chance of failure effectively to improve yield
